The crankbrothers have expanded their tuned wheel system to include an aluminium range. The Crankbrothers synthesis wheels have taken a new approach to wheel systems by focusing on a compliant front wheel combined with a stiff rear wheel to achieve optimum ride characteristics for each rider. The compliant front wheel improves handling and control in turns, while the stiff rear wheel enhances stability and tracking at higher speeds. In the alloy range, these different characteristics are achieved by variations in spoke tension, spoke weight, spoke count, rim width, and rim weight. There are Enduro, XC/Trail, and E-bike models available, aiming to accommodate as many riders as possible. For the Enduro and XCT models, there are two hub options available - a crankbrothers hub and an i9 1/1 hub. Both provide 4 degrees of engagement, giving riders the freedom to choose the option that suits them best. Additionally, the Enduro and XCT rim only availability allows for custom wheel building. The rear wheel features an inner rim width of 31.5mm for 27.5/29 wheels and 35.5mm for 27.5+ wheels. It has a spoke count of 32 with Sapim E-Strong spokes. The weight of the wheel is 1238g for 29 wheels, 1174g for 27.5 wheels, and 1181g for 27.5+ wheels. The hub engagement is 17 degrees.
